Cello's E sound (frequency = 166Hz, period = 6.04mS, wavelength = 2.05m, the most typical simple sound), the sound waves emitted from the top plate do not use the side walls(Bouts) for direct reflection. But interact between the back plate instead. It appears that the intensity is amplified by repeating resonance (reverberation) every 6mS.

Probably some of it (less than 10%) is ejected out of the cello body. As a result, the cello's sound is emitted almost evenly as omnidirectional sound centered in the normal direction of the top plate.

おそらくその一部(10%未満)が筐体の外へと放出される。その結果、チェロの音は表板の法線方向を中心に無指向性の音として概ね均等に放出されることになる。

Cello's E(166 Hz) tone, -Period=6.04mS, Wavelength=2.05m-, takes "8-shape" resonance orbit in the cello body. The wavelength is slightly shorter than the circumference of bouts wall. As a result of the interference, not only E tone but also "wolf tone (howling/vanishing)" seems synchronized in themselves and spreading omni-directionally too.

チェロの E(166Hz)トーンは、８の字形の取りうる最大共鳴軌道よりも半音～全音分の波長が短い軌道をとっている。周期=6.04mS、波長=2.05m。偏りなく全方位に ほぼ同期して音を放散している。丁寧なボーイングを行うと弓でもピチカートと同様な１ビートのシンプルな正弦波形が得られる。

オシロスコープの横軸を縮めていくと、ウルフトーンがとらえられる。Eトーンと同様にウルフ(消音)も全方位向かって無指向性である。
